加入關盟總協(GATT)是政府既定政策，且勢在必行。為因應大量農產品進口對我國農業產生的衝擊，必須加強進口農產品檢疫、檢驗措施，以防止外來疫病、蟲害、農藥、毒物等汙染物傳入。本片介紹國際動植物檢疫和檢疫協定、我國對進出口水果檢疫規定、以及目前針對水果害蟲檢疫處裡發展之技術等，並強調必須農政與研究單位團隊合作，才能有效減少我國農業損失。
Taiwan will enter the GATT sooner or later, it’s just a matter of time. Thus the Taiwanese government needs to reinforce its oversight of the importation of agricultural products in order to prevent the entry of any possible disease, pest, fertilizer or poison. This video introduces international agreements on the inspection of animals and plants, quarantine of imported and exported fruit, and the technology developed for fruit pest control. It emphasizes the importance of cooperation between agricultural agencies and research teams in order to minimize losses from damage.
