I read this type of book ( shifter romances) because I like the epic level romance: the idea of having someone totally obsessed by you, uncontrollably jealous, needing to be with you all the time and with an enduring love that will not change. The idea of a pack of friends/ family is also appealing.

I also like stories about young adulthood: that time where there are a lot of possibilities and options.

This covers all those bases well. It is a quick easy read with a good tone, some action/ intrigue, and is relatively chaste. There are some grammar/ spelling issues but nothing that bothered me too much.

Sophie and caeden are the best couple. Caeden is warm smart sexy and funny. You will just love him. Sophie is his pergect match. This author did a great job of mixing the growing relationship and the story line together. I throughlu enjoyed this book and you will too. This series was written well and I was excited to read all three books.
Let me start by saying that this book was just as good as the first (Outsider). To have a love like Caeden and Sophie is pretty unfathomable. As the reader you get to experience their love growing stronger. It is maturing just as Sophie is maturing and falling naturally into her role as Alpha female.
One of my favorite quotes from the book is when Caeden is telling Sophie he loves her and not to forget that. Her reply, "Your love would be impossible to forget." Can you imagine a love like that?!
Life seems to be in a pleasant state for Caeden and Sophie but of course it can't stay that way with Travis running around. The entire pack is waiting and watching for everything to come to a head. Only time will tell and while they wait Sophie trains and prepares to help and lead.
***Micalea, again, has done a fantastic job! The characters are really developing to the point that the reader knows their quirks and other details. Micalea was a little bit of a tease because I am now anxiously awaiting Fighter but luckily I was told it would be out sooner than planned...phew!!!! She really knows how to end a book..just wait and see.**
On a side note, I have to mention one of my favorite parts that had me laughing outloud.
--Sophie and Caeden are stuck inside on a rainy day and are looking for something to do. Sophie finds a Ouijia board and Caeden is less that enthusiastic.
"I'm not going to die if I mess with it right? A ghost isn't going to attack me? I don't do paranormal." I laughed so hard that I had to wipe tears from my eyes. "You don't do paranormal? For Lord's sake Caeden you turn into a wolf. If that's not paranormal then I don't know what is."
You can't not love these characters. Enjoy!!!!
Ok, I won't give it away, but I just knew it. Maybe it's because I feel like I know Micalea so well now that something just told me where this twist was headed. Can't wait to see what's next.
I rated this one so highly because it kept me so involved to the point that I didn't want to stop reading it to even go to sleep at night !! Sophie is a stubborn and yet wonderful character and she has so much spunk about her..Caeden is another character that you fall for so fast and want them to be together as they are suppose to be... There is something going on at all times...No lagging and no time for boredom throughout any of these books and I love that about them !! Truly a great read and can't wait on the next book to come out so I can pick up where we left off ! Please don't leave us hanging for long...Oh, and I'm disabled and so reading my kindle fire and having stories as wonderful as these to get lost into makes it a lot easier to be home alone and in severe pain as much as I am so I thank you for that too !!
Have I mentioned how much I just love Micalea Smeltzer? Her books are all great and Insider was too. This series is fabulous.

I was a little sad that there wasn't a lot of action in this book. It was slower paced. Never the less, the author's writing makes up for it. The flow was still easy and the story made sense.

The romance between Sophie and Caden is so special. I am amazed at their bond and how strong it is. Caden= *swoon* I loved the romance aspect of this book and how their relationship progressed.

So I am still not sure what it is about that last chapter, but I am never a huge fan of switched P.O.V's. Just beware, it is there in the end.

I loved this sequel to Outsider and am already itching to get my hands on the third book. I hope she writes fast..lol. But seriously, I highly recommend this YA paranormal romance to all paranormal romance lovers. The author pens a great book. I give Insider five glittery stars for being amazing)
I was advised by friends that this series was right down my alley..normally it would have been..I like it, bought the whole series at once...BUT the age group this is geared for is my draw back...it deals with things just way too immature for me...not saying the dilemmas are way too adult ((which I find seriously hilarious...considering they will stab a person in the heart,cut it out..speak of blood dripping down a wall, but cant or WILL NOT say ASS if there lives depend on it) .I will continue to read the series since I have the books all ready loaded in my kindle...had I been younger like 13 I would have LOVED these books...the phrases & word usage is just wow way WAY immature...for what its worth its a great series for young YOUNG kids...anything beyond 15 or well lets say beyond a mature 15 yrs old..I think those kids will find it kinda corny in some places in the book..im hoping as the books progress they grow up & the word usage & phrasing will mature with them...god I hope so O_O
